Everything is Relative

Just a few years ago, our genius, Al Onestone, I am talking about Albert Einstein, said it – he claimed that “Everything is Relative.”

This morning on the plane from Rio to Paris I remembered Al and not by chance.

This particular commute, Rio de Janeiro-Barcelona with a layover in Paris gets a bit lengthy and tiring, obviously thanks to the number of hours, the layover, lack of sleep, etc, anyway enough said, but it is clear in the end it is unfriendly travel.

This being said, here it is when I recalled our friend Al when speaking to an Indian couple, they were telling me about their trip and how it was a long commute for them from Rio to their final destination. The story was interesting and it was as follows: up to Paris it was kust like my trip, so around 11 hours. After Paris they had a layover of around 3 hours there, just enough time to get them ready for another 11 hours to Mumbai. Once there, they still were to enjoy another nice layover of a couple of hours until catching to the final plane that would take them to their home town where they would arrive at around 7h am, so literally one more day of flying when speaking in local times.

After this short story, the moral that the woman was telling was that at nearly at 50 the trip itself was a bit tiring, but the story was not ending there, she went on saying, “as we get there early in the morning, we take advantage of the day. My husband already has a meeting at 9h30 and I am off to my duties”. At that second, I had to reach around to get my jae and put it back as it had fell off while listening to their story. Clearly enough, I could only add to it when comparing it to my trip being extremely tiring “Everything is Relative”

sunny tuesday in bcn city

We are back to the city of sun in the mediterranean sea. After green areas, grey weayjer and just sparkles of sun, last night we flew into the warmth. Barcelona welcomed us with clear skys and the typical temperature where one feels invited to be outside.

Now, a short week is up, the downfalls of the monday were left behind in company of the family. The whole trip has felt like miniholidays, those are great because you feel you are out while everything goes on.

How was YOUR monday?

back in town is like…

Being back in town is a feeling that can only be compared to being at home, or when in childhood you are safe with your parents, its like resting at home after having slept else where, its a feeling natural comfort, back to memories of basic tranquility and relaxation. On my way home in the cab, the usual quick calls to wife and mom to let them know we are ok, safe and sound, and another day goes by. Barcelona is about to fall asleep and so am i as soon as hit the pillow tonight! Que duerman bien…

train to heathrow

Ladies and gents,

Its been two days of the most pure brit flavor, from the authentic scene, to hotel, humor, bfast, tv, celebrity news, etc. glad its reaching its end as i am on my way to the belowed Barclona, where the sun shines and weather carries the letter W as in warm.

Now, in Osterley station, i am only 6 stops to hit terminal 1 that will take me to bcn.

The good news is not about leaving the city, but actually it is about seeing the little prince and the wife, funnily enough, you go on a trip for 1 night and it seems to be about a week.

Ok, catch up later, my terminal 1 is just arriving.

Later guys!

Non Technology Day

It is sometimes with a sense of irony that there are days for almost everything in this planet: mothers day, st valentines day, st patricks day, all fools, internet day, independence day and so on. well, today i want to declare the non Technology Day, and as Murphys law argues it happens when you need it most ;)

This morning our internet connection was down in the office. hoping it would only stay for a couple of hours (if not minutes) it actually has stayed up to now. Thus I deciced to go home and use my private wifi to at least respond to email properly (not from the BB) and also access the panels where i need some info. Well, if you have read up to here, you may think this is story has a hollywood ending, right? BEEEEEEEH! Wrong, as soon as I turn on my laptop, windows has played a good trick on me, fatal error. windows has stopped everything to  avoid major damages. So it is still lrestarting and bulking all needed data.

If you are still reading, you may wonder how I am still posting this, well, sometimes windows is not the only alternative, my MacBookPro has given a hand at least to go online :)

From this corner in Sunny Barcelona, a big thanks for Steve!

Finally Barcelona!

Arriving at the home town is always good. The surprise came yesterday in form of hail :P the good news today is that after good rain, comes the calm and the sun. Our terrace is again dry and the sun is hitting us with its strong wing

aragonAragon street is enjoying low traffic volumes at this time and a honest sun bathing after the rain.

Madrid-lians!

Ecoogler.comWell, and the next step in between as announced yesterday, is Madrid. On the way to the final destination, Madrid is a half flavor of what my adopted home town, Barcelona, has to offer. The big miss here is the beach and the mediterranean climate. Anyway, after a 10 hour trip, there is not too much in terms of neurons connectivity. However, I just a cool search engine supporting a green initiative, which by the way I started to support from this blog.

Ludo & Thomas – Barcelona, 3 Nov 2007

The “Wedding” of the weddings; Yesterday we attended one of the best family-social events we have been to lately. Not only for the practical reasons (company, atmosphere, location, gastronomy, etc which by the way were amazing) but also for the kind of spirit that was brought into place.

Over 400 attendees personified the internationalizm of today’s world – nationalities ranging from Brasil, Italy, Spain, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, to Catalunya or even the Basque country

When you see a couple like them, sparkling at each touch, you understand that it is love that they are feeling, in every kiss, with every word. It was mentioned last night, that the two families uniting, sharing, getting to know each other, two beings found each other in Barcelona, different origins but very similar on the basis.

From this corner in Barcelona we want to wish you both, Ludo and Thomas, all the best for now and for the years to come.

Un fuerte abrazo de Kitty y Jose

PS: Quoting Marc with his reference to a “wooden table”, ours is probably not as big as the Chiesa’, but for you to know there is always room for you both!
